Are you ready to Tengu?
What is Tengu Format?

Tengu Plant Format, or simply Tengu Format, is a retro Yu-Gi-Oh! format that revisits the gameplay and strategies of YCS Toronto in September 2011. It gets its name from the most popular deck at the time, Tengu Plant: a synchro toolbox strategy that used the ever-present Reborn Tengu alongside Plant tuner monsters.

With Generation Force as the latest set release, duelists gain access to XYZ monsters for the first time, making the extra deck even more flexible alongside newer synchro monsters like Trishula, T.G. Hyper Librarian, and Formula Synchron.

Besides Tengu Plant, many decks enjoy competitive success such as Agents, Elemental Heroes, Gravekeepers, X-Sabers, T.G. and Chaos Variants, to name a few. The metagame is diverse and extremely friendly to rogue strategies, making Tengu Format a paradise for brewing and dueling alike.

Why Play Tengu Format?

With Tengu Format’s September 2011 cardpool and banlist, duelists enjoy access to a variety of tools that make decks more flexible, powerful, and interesting.

Deck Consistency

Pot of Duality lets you see more of your deck while Tour Guide From The Underworld gives you easy access to Sangan to search for key pieces.

Cards like Dark Hole, Heavy Storm, and Monster Reborn give you many ways to mount comebacks while hand traps like Maxx “C” and Effect Veiler provide extra layers of defense.

The extra deck is stronger than ever with high-powered monsters like Leviathan Dragon or Number 39: Utopia and skill-expressive tools like Leviair the Sea Dragon.

Tengu Format is a Konami-supported Time Wizard Format with many sanctioned events taking place at YCSs, including 3v3 tournaments, 8 man pods, and more.
